Using PVC - protecting the environment for a greener future

Although there have been arguments against the use pf PVC there are many arguments in favour of its use :

• The manufacture of PVC uses little energy compared to the manufacture of other man made materials. A set volume of PVC requires 40% of that needed for manufacturing steel and 13% of that needed for aluminium.
• PVC also uses less oil than that of other polymers because 57% of the raw material used in its manufacture is comon salt - an almost inexhaustible natural resource.
• PVC has excellent qualities for recyclimg - research having demonstrated that it can be recycled up to 10 times before it loses its physical properties. So the amount of raw materials used in making new PVC is reduced. The amount of waste going to landfill or incinerators when PVC products reach the end of their life cycle is reduced. It is easier to recycle PVC than other plastics
